About the Role
As Humana transforms into an AI-first enterprise, this role will lead the design, prototyping, and scaling of AI solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build AI-powered solutions that address enterprise challenges, driving complex product areas within the AI portfolio from concept to delivery through Humana's governance process.
Responsibilities
- Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for a complex AI product area.
- Prioritize AI product opportunities and adapt to changing models and business needs.
- Partner with business units to map operations and translate business problems into AI use cases with clear value propositions.
- Build working prototypes and demos using AI tools to test feasibility and value.
- Translate validated use cases into detailed requirements, user stories, and success metrics.
- Shape the end-to-end user experience in collaboration with design teams.
- Drive the build of AI solutions from prototype to production, managing the backlog and making scope decisions.
- Define and measure the quality of AI solutions, including running offline and live evaluations.
- Support high-level architecture discussions and own prompt engineering and skill creation for AI harnesses.
- Lead engineers, data scientists, designers, and business partners without direct authority.
- Author reusable playbooks, skills, and solution patterns to accelerate AI delivery.
- Navigate solutions through Humana's enterprise AI governance framework.
- Communicate strategy, requirements, roadmap, ROI, and evaluation results to executive and technical audiences.
- Mentor product managers and elevate the team's AI building standards.
- Track and apply advances in AI models, agents, evaluations, and emerging techniques.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of product or related experience.
- 4+ years in product management with AI/ML or GenAI products shipped to production.
- Regularly use AI tools and can articulate specific model behavior changes and prototyping capabilities.
- Experience building evaluations, including golden sets, ground truth, and offline/live evals.
- Experience using precision- and recall-based metrics for product decisions.
- Demonstrated systems thinking and ability to build infrastructure to prevent problem classes.
- Ability to communicate effectively between business and technical concepts.
- Track record of creating business cases, ROI models, and roadmaps.
- Working understanding of modern AI/ML and GenAI (LLMs, agents, RAG, prompt engineering, and Evaluation methodology).
- Experience in healthcare, insurance, or another regulated industry is preferred.
- A well-supported point of view on agentic AI, evals, and AI-native product development is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with agent frameworks, GraphRAG / knowledge graphs, and reusable skills / plugins is preferred.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a fast pace, working from first principles is preferred.
