About the Role
Account Managers are responsible for the smooth execution of creator marketing programs for clients, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and on brief. They provide expertise in social media and the creator space, staying current with market trends, the creator network, and compliance. They ensure content aligns with agency standards and performance metrics, acting as a positive force and building strong relationships with clients and creators.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of accounts and drive the process for small to midsize campaigns, including strategy, creative ideation, influencer management, production, and reporting.
- Contribute to creative ideation with teams and clients, translating client feedback into accurate briefs for creatives.
- Set agendas, lead status meetings, and ensure accurate contact reports are distributed.
- Feed into project management plans regarding resources and internal timelines, anticipating next steps and coordinating necessary support.
- Write creative influencer briefs aligned with creative ideas and best practices, including all mandatory elements, and obtain client and legal team sign-off.
- Review and provide feedback on creative content from teams and influencers to ensure alignment with client briefs and campaign objectives.
- Perform quality control on all creative content against guidelines and disclosure requirements.
- Manage the distribution strategy of content, including content calendars, to optimize performance.
- Build post-campaign reports (PCAs) with objectives, data, analysis, learnings, and recommendations.
- Seek written client approval throughout the campaign process.
- Maintain high organization and attention to detail, keeping project managers updated on timing issues and planning for potential delays.
- Document actions and progress, and keep work folders up-to-date.
- Liaise with project managers on campaign financial aspects, from talent budgeting to reconciliation.
- Approve influencer contracts and costs before work commences.
- Keep Companion, project trackers, and third-party expenses updated.
- Ensure accurate time reporting across accounts and flag any scope risks proactively.
- Provide regular feedback opportunities through wash-ups and influencer feedback forms.
- Mentor and develop junior staff members, supporting their integration into the agency.
- Champion good work and build internal relationships across all departments.
- Manage upwards by keeping senior team members informed of campaign status and performance.
- Bring fresh stimulus to the team to inform briefs and drive work forward.
- Understand the functionality of social platforms, formats, and the latest trends.
- Share knowledge and thought leadership relevant to specific clients and the industry for individual and agency growth.
- Demonstrate curiosity about the industry, technology, consumers, culture, clients, and products.
- Lead the identification, outreach, and relationship management of influencers and ambassadors.
- Provide recommendations and rationale for client buy-in.
- Negotiate rates and deliverables with Account Executives to align with budgets and drive agency profitability.
- Ensure thorough influencer due diligence and data authenticity, flagging any issues or recommendations to the client.
- Recruit relevant influencers for campaigns and manage content creation through to publication.
- Organize and execute influencer agreements with approval from the Account Director.
- Serve as a main point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and managing expectations.
- Be solution-focused, make recommendations, flag risks, and address talent and client concerns.
- Familiarize yourself with client business, commercial performance, and competitors.
- Immerse yourself in the client's sector.
- Support inter-agency teams and external partners in creating seamless and productive relationships.
- Meet with clients regularly to understand their business and work.
Requirements
- 4+ years in account management, preferably in an agency setting with a focus on influencer marketing and social media.
- Experience and comfortability in handling all client communications.
- Ability to manage and mentor junior staff and/or interns.
Skills
- Knowledgeable of social media platforms, especially Instagram and TikTok, and emerging social media platforms.
- Strong interest and knowledge of influencer marketing and latest influencer trends.
- Highly organized, detailed oriented and analytical thinker but with an eye for creativity.
