About the Role
The Interior Designer I position entails supporting the interior design effort on projects, assisting the lead interior designer with the development of interior design concepts, including research regarding the selection and detailing of finish materials and furnishings. This role coordinates work with other disciplines to produce drawings and construction documents that fulfill the design concept, meet client expectations, and align with the firm's goals of design excellence, financial viability, and quality service.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating interior environments that serve client goals and respond to spatial needs, image, and aesthetic requirements.
- Develop code compliant designs.
- Assist with the selection of appropriate finish materials and furnishings.
- Assist with the development of presentation materials, including 3D renderings.
- Observe and participate in design presentations to the client.
- Participate in in-house design review presentations.
- Coordinate work with other disciplines.
- Assist in the execution and enhancement of the design intent while preparing construction documents.
- Work with architecture and engineering disciplines to ensure consistent project development towards design concepts.
- Assist in the development of project and furniture specifications and other technical requirements.
- Prepare finish and furniture boards and record binders.
- Assist with submittal responses, shop drawing review, and construction site visits.
- Assist with interiors and furniture punch lists.
- Assist market segment leaders and the marketing department in preparing design documents and presentation materials.
Requirements

- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, 3D modeling software (Sketch up, Rhino).
- Excellent conceptual skills and understanding of interior architecture.
- Understanding of color theory and its practical application.
- Understanding of interior architectural detailing.
- Understanding of finish materials and their application.
- Understanding of sustainable design concepts.
