About the Role

The Pharmacy Inventory Specialist ensures the efficient and accurate management of inventory and owes orders in our pharmacy. This position works directly under the pharmacy Inventory Manager with joint direction from the MedWiz Management Inventory and Purchasing team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the efficient receiving of wholesale medication deliveries, management of owes, and support the fulfillment of prescription orders, ensuring timely and accurate dispensing.
• Perform Assigned Counts for the Inventory Recount Tool to maintain inventory control for an accurate and adequate supply of medications and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Maintain all products in the pharmacy in a neat, well-organized, and date sorted order in the proper locations.
• Notify Purchasing of any Owes, out of stock items, or issues.
• Ensure deliveries are sorted, received, and distributed/delivered efficiently and proactively.
• Monitor Inventory Dashboard for order processing, inventory turnover, Owes and customer satisfaction, initiating corrective actions when necessary to ensure KPIs are met or exceeded.
• Monitor stock levels, anticipate demand, and collaborate with the Purchasing Team, departments including Clinical, IV, and Logistic to ensure timely replenishment.
• Conduct monthly Brand Returns with Purchasing to ensure unused medication is returned to suppliers for credit.
• Assist prepack team, receiver, and returns technician as needed.
• Address all Product Recalls by quarantining product, notifying pharmacists and staff, and following instructions for credit/return by supplier.

Requirements

• Current pharmacy technician license required.
• Relevant certifications preferred but not required (e.g., PTCB).
• Must be able to obtain a pharmacy technician license within three to six months if not currently licensed.
• Proven experience in pharmacy operations.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products and dispensing procedures.
• Familiarity with pharmacy management software and inventory control systems.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to lift over 50lbs.
• Schedule/shift expectations are based on business needs, anywhere between 7am-6pm, with weekends possible.
• Must perform other duties as required or assigned.
