About the Role

HSS Rehab and Performance is seeking a skilled speech language pathologist to join the Speech Therapy Team. This role involves performing pediatric outpatient evaluations and treatment for young patients with speech, language, and feeding conditions, collaborating with pediatric physical and occupational therapists. Responsibilities include direct patient care, educating patients/families on treatment plans and rehabilitation techniques, and supporting bedside swallow assessments and inpatient treatment in the acute care unit for pediatric and adult populations.

Responsibilities

Perform pediatric outpatient evaluations and treatment for speech, language, and feeding conditions.
Collaborate with pediatric physical and occupational therapists.
Educate patients and families on plan of care and rehabilitation techniques.
Support bedside swallow assessments and inpatient treatment in the acute care unit for pediatric and adult populations.

Requirements

Certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
NYS Certification as Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD).
New York State SLP licensure.

Experience Level

Advanced experience in speech sound disorders and early language development
Training in PROMPT
Training in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC)
Experience in pediatric dysphagia and feeding therapy
Experience supporting infants with feeding challenges
Experience with breastfeeding and bottle-feeding interventions
Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) credentials or equivalent infant feeding experience (highly desirable)

Education Level

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (implied by certification requirements)

Salary/Compensations

$123,025.50 - $143,013.00
