About the Role
The Strategic Growth Office at GFT fuels enterprise-wide growth by aligning talent, insights, and strategy to win complex, high-impact projects. This role supports business lines by leading key business development support efforts, managing proposal development, and contributing to the company's strategic plan.
Responsibilities
- Manage one or more assistant proposal specialists/proposal specialists on a day-to-day basis, including task assignment and work review.
- Manage and/or assist Business Development Manager or Leader with proposal workload and resourcing for regional or global business development team.
- Serve as timesheet approver, perform Performance Evaluation Reviews (PER), and recommend training for staff.
- Manage proposals and ensure capture strategy is transitioned to proposal strategy.
- Lead multiple large, long-term, and complex pursuits concurrently.
- Lead interview development and work closely with Manager for input and oversight.
- Discuss and write key strategic win themes and messaging.
- Organize resources for overall proposal effort, including graphics, proposal specialists, print production, and operations.
- Proactively identify opportunities in the pipeline that should start capture and initiate with the business line.
- Promote and lead Capture Planning support efforts for longer-term, complex opportunities.
- Research and drive the development of opportunities with the Capture Manager.
- Establish priorities for multiple opportunities in alignment with the Capture Manager.
- Keep all CRM documentation updated.
- Use capture management plans in accordance with company templates and standards.
- Coordinate with MARCOM staff to define needs and develop strategic plan recommendations for early opportunity pre-positioning activities.
- Develop client and teaming relationships at the direction of client or capture managers.
- Develop understanding of pursuits through industry activities, such as trade shows.
- Lead Tier 1 and/or 2 client management plans for a single business line.
- Communicate/prioritize BDM support efforts based on understanding of business plan.
- Facilitate client management meetings and ensure documentation in CRM.
- Coordinate with MARCOM staff to define needs and develop strategic plan recommendations for early client pre-positioning activities.

Experience Level

- 10+ years of combined experience in business development lifecycle
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience supporting, facilitating, and participating in capture planning support
- Demonstrated success in taking opportunities successfully from capture support through all phases of proposal management
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated increasing responsibility in business development lifecycle phases
- At least 2 years of experience supervising staff
Education Level
- 4-year degree in English, marketing, journalism, communications, or applicable field
- Certification or training in business development, marketing, communications, or sales received through an industry professional organization is highly desirable
Salary/Compensations
- $125,000 - $165,000
