About the Role

As a Senior Legal Counsel, Litigation, you will play a key role in protecting the interests of iA Financial Group by providing litigation expertise, legal guidance, and strategic counsel to business partners across the organization. Responsibilities

Provide litigation services and legal support directly to iA Financial Group and its subsidiaries, while managing external counsel when required
Draft pleadings, motions, mediation briefs, pre-trial briefs, and other legal documents
Represent the organization at court proceedings, including motions, examinations for discovery, pre-trial conferences, and mediations
Negotiate and resolve claims and disputes in a cost-effective and business-oriented manner
Provide legal opinions and strategic advice on litigation matters and broader legal issues, including legislative analysis and legal research

Requirements

Strong advocacy skills and deep understanding of litigation processes
Excellent negotiation, oral, and written communication abilities
Sound judgment and the ability to assess legal risks while balancing business objectives
Agility, initiative, client-service orientation, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working in a continuous improvement environment and communicating complex legal concepts in plain language

Salary/Compensations

$130,000 to $180,000 CAD per year
