About the Role

This high-impact strategic role serves as the voice of MongoDB's most important customers at the executive level. The Customer Advocate will act as a trusted advisor to the Chief Product Officer, driving cross-functional alignment to ensure customer feedback, escalations, and long-term success are embedded in MongoDB's core product strategy. This role is critical to bridging the gap between customer challenges and the product roadmap, partnering with product leadership, engineering, sales, and customer success to identify patterns, surface opportunities, and ensure core products evolve to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary strategic liaison between MongoDB's core product organization and its most important customers.
  • Develop and execute a forward-looking customer advocacy strategy in collaboration with the CPO and senior product leadership.
  • Build and maintain deep relationships with executive stakeholders at strategic customer accounts.
  • Drive an effective, structured process for customer engagement.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success to surface high-signal customer feedback and translate it into actionable product insights and roadmap influence.
  • Lead preparation for and participate in executive customer meetings.
  • Establish deep, technical fluency in MongoDB's core product portfolio.
  • Define and track key success measures for the CPO's customer engagement motion.
  • Contribute to the development and scaling of best practices in customer engagement across the organization.
  • Leverage AI tools and data-driven insights to identify trends across customer interactions, proactively surface risk or opportunity, and inform executive prioritization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of work experience, or 8+ years ideally in SaaS product management, consulting, enterprise sales strategy, or customer success leadership.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Sharp business judgment with the ability to see the big picture while also driving disciplined execution on the details.
  • Demonstrated success influencing product direction through customer advocacy, executive engagement, or voice-of-customer programs at scale.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft and deliver compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences at the C-suite level.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment and resolve conflict across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Deep problem-solver mindset with a track record of understanding and fulfilling complex customer needs.
  • Experience working in or alongside a product organization, with sufficient technical fluency to engage credibly on platform capabilities, integrations, and roadmap tradeoffs.
  • Demonstrated exceptional learning agility — able to rapidly internalize new product domains, market dynamics, and customer contexts.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and analytical platforms (Tableau, Salesforce, or equivalents) to derive insights from customer data and support decision-making.
  • High energy, strong work ethic, and disciplined execution skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple high-priority engagements simultaneously.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and organizational change; action-oriented and adaptable.
  • Willingness to travel for customer and partner meetings, up to 50% of the time.
