About the Role
The RN Supervisor is responsible for the operation of the nursing department and facility, organizing and maintaining staffing guidelines to meet resident needs. This role involves overseeing assigned unit activities and staff, demonstrating clinical expertise, and responding to patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Organizes, oversees, and supervises assigned unit activities and staff assignments.
- Demonstrates clinical expertise consistent with established standards of Nursing Practice.
- Identifies and responds appropriately and timely to patient needs.
- Monitors, observes, and documents vital signs, treatments administered, and patient responses.
- Administers medications and treatments as needed.
- Communicates and directs ongoing services, plans, concerns, or information to appropriate team members, residents, families, or medical staff.
- Identifies and follows disciplinary action as stated in policy.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, and other vendors/services.
- Performs RN assessments for residents post-incidents or change in condition.
- Leads and directs emergency situations (e.g., fire alarms, elopements).
- Maintains accurate nursing reports, staffing sheets, and census rosters.
Requirements
- Current and good standing RN License in the State of New York.
- Experience with geriatric, short-term rehab, or Alzheimer’s patients is desirable.
- Progressive nursing experience; supervisory experience preferred.
- Dedicated to providing extraordinary, quality, compassionate care to each resident.
- Genuinely interested in helping ill, injured, disabled, and elderly individuals.
- Possesses patience and willingness to assist any residents and co-workers.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organization skills.
- Able to work well under pressure, is flexible, and will work harmoniously with all staff.
- Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but not mandated.
