About the Role

The Director, Legal Programs is responsible for leading the execution of complex Legal Operations initiatives, strengthening project management discipline, and applying DBS-based operating routines to improve visibility, accountability, and delivery across key Legal & Compliance priorities. This position reports to the Senior Director, Legal Operations and is part of the Corporate Legal organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of complex Legal Operations initiatives by developing project plans, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring delivery against agreed objectives.
  • Establish and maintain project management standards, governance routines, and reporting mechanisms that improve visibility, accountability, and execution across key initiatives.
  • Coach and support project managers and initiative leads, helping strengthen program management capability and adoption of practical best practices.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Human Resources, DBS, and business stakeholders to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and maintain momentum across cross-functional workstreams.
  • Apply DBS tools and continuous improvement practices to improve processes, strengthen management systems, and drive sustainable results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 7+ years of experience leading complex cross-functional programs, projects, or operational initiatives in a matrixed organization.
  • 2+ years of experience leading people, coaching team members, or developing project and program management capabilities through direct or indirect leadership.
  • Experience establishing project governance, operating cadences, performance metrics, status reporting, and execution routines.
  • Experience applying DBS, Lean, continuous improvement, operational excellence, or similar business system methodologies.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives, stakeholders, risks, dependencies, and competing priorities.
  • Experience communicating project status, risks, decisions, and recommendations to senior leaders.
  • 25% travel
