About the Role
Slash is looking for a Software Engineer to own and scale the security of its platform. This role involves securing systems across the entire stack, establishing security patterns, and defining and owning the security program end-to-end to enable reliable and secure business spend processing.
Responsibilities
- Own Slash's security program end-to-end, identifying gaps, prioritizing, and driving changes independently.
- Manage and harden network security components including Cloudflare, AWS WAF, and VPC networking.
- Implement application security features such as passkey authentication and SMS rate limiting.
- Manage recurring penetration tests and the bug bounty program, coordinating remediation efforts.
- Assist with compliance efforts for PCI and SOC 2.
- Establish security patterns, tooling, and guardrails to enable rapid and safe team development.
- Own corporate IT security, including securing company equipment and endpoints.
- Interface with customers, internal stakeholders, and vendors regarding security practices.
Requirements
- Security generalist with knowledge across the stack, from infrastructure to application code.
- Ability to work with and understand the platform and infrastructure (Kubernetes/EKS, CockroachDB, Kafka, Terraform/Pulumi, AWS).
- Organized and capable of coordinating penetration tests, audits, and competing security priorities.
- Proficiency in TypeScript or another object-oriented language.
- Ability to independently identify gaps and drive high-impact changes.
- Experience as a current or recent founder in the security space, OR 2-5 years of experience with rapid promotion to senior/staff level at companies with a high bar for security.
