About the Role
The Analyst, Sales Finance will partner with senior Sales and Finance leadership to enhance trade spend effectiveness through financial insights and functional innovation. This role supports cross-functional partnerships, financial planning and analysis, management reporting, and business opportunity assessments to drive profitable growth by analyzing gross-to-net discounts and ensuring efficient processes for annual planning and month-end close.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute weekly reporting, including customer inventory analysis and open deduction summaries.
- Lead and innovate core planning processes and tools across Sales & Finance.
- Review and approve incremental investment opportunities to drive growth.
- Conduct budget and forecast reviews for volume, trade spend, and margin.
- Ensure accurate adjustments reflect budgeted objectives and targets.
- Present action plans to Sales and Finance teams.
- Manage trade accruals as needed.
- Perform annual trade planning by understanding all customer investments, including promotions, pricing, preferred vendor agreements, and target-based incentives.
- Make recommendations to business partners on improvement opportunities.
- Analyze and commercialize insights and corrective actions for underperforming business targets.
- Understand and challenge variances, managing opportunities and risks with Sales.
- Develop and maintain planning tools, financial modeling, and operating procedures.
- Manage promotion frequency and depth to achieve targeted financial results.
- Advise CBT on trade spending policies and procedures.
- Ensure ongoing trade policy compliance in partnership with the accounting team.
- Verify system and process efficiency for financial planning and analysis.
- Support CBT in validating trade rates and trade funding for customer incentive program payments.
