About the Role

Tufts Medical Center is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Transplant Hepatologist to join the Division of Transplant Surgery. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing academic liver transplant program at a premier academic medical center, playing a pivotal role in its continued growth and enhancing patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic liver disease in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Provide comprehensive pre- and post-liver transplant care, including evaluations, waitlist management, and long-term follow-up.
  • Diagnose and manage complex hepatobiliary disorders.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary liver transplant selection conferences and collaborate with the transplant team.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based therapies.
  • Foster strong relationships with physicians and clinical leaders across Tufts Medicine to enhance collaboration and access to services.
  • Partner with community physicians and regional referral providers to support program growth.
  • Serve as a clinical ambassador for Tufts Medicine through outreach and educational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, social workers, and transplant coordinators for coordinated care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, program development, and multidisciplinary conferences.
  • Teach and mentor fellows, residents, medical students, and advanced practice learners.
  • Participate in clinical research and scholarly activities.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Fellowship trained in Transplant Hepatology.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Passion for delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration, relationship building, and expanding access to specialty care.
  • Interest in academic medicine, medical education, research, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
