About the Role

Responsible for executing compensation practices while actively evaluating process optimization and market competitive value propositions to drive stronger employee engagement, in alignment with our company strategy and employee engagement levels. Administering Canadian and USA benefits and retirement programs, which includes plan administration, managing vendor relationships, acting as a liaison for employees, reviewing plan experience, and making recommendations for any changes in program design given new legislation or competitiveness needs.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Total Rewards programs (compensation, benefits and retirement programs) and creation of strategic offerings to continuously improve our company value proposition.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of industry trends and competitiveness to recommend and establish new strategies in our total rewards philosophy.
  • Participate in annual compensation surveys to identify and recommend insights to the leadership team.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of our benefit and retirement programs through program benchmarking and annual experience reviews with brokers.
  • Ensure total rewards activities align with our People Calendar and MDLZ phasing, by creating project charters and launch plans.
  • Work with Total Rewards Leadership to identify strategies that meet our financial ambitions, while providing storytelling to influence new practices and obtain program approval.
  • Support the annual budget work-up process within the HR Leadership team.
  • Support the development of new and existing Total Rewards policies and programs to ensure effective process management and consistent delivery across the business.
  • Performing job evaluations using Mercer’s IPE Methodology to ensure all roles are properly graded within the organization’s hierarchy; perform ad hoc analysis for new role costing, to set appropriate wages rates.
  • Support with the annual STI Performance Bonus incentive program through determining eligibility, updating and distributing plan documents, creating awareness/training staff, creating employee payment files for payroll processing, and developing employee communication; manage bonus transfers to RRSP/401k.
  • Work with our vendors/brokers to manage legal compliance for our plans including any testing requirements and data validation.
  • Support with the annual wage adjustment processes for hourly (wage progression grid) and salaried (merit) roles by creating wage grids and salary bands, wage adjustment processes, payroll processing files, and conducting equity reviews. Create letters announcing changes for individual compensation.
  • Support with the administration and education of the company’s LTI program in partnership with our parent company, Mondelez International.
  • Support the Benefits strategy through the annual renewal process (CA/US) and US benefits re-enrollment process.
  • Proactively develop annual enrollment campaigns, and ongoing employee education sessions (ex: EFAP, RRSP/401k utilization).
  • Canadian & US Benefits and retirement program administration oversight.
  • Partnering with external consultants to ensure the effective management and administration of existing retirement and benefits programs.
  • Support with ensuring proper configuration in Ceridian Dayforce HCM System.
  • Responds to inquiries from HR, Employees and Managers on plan provisions, changes and general questions.
  • Review carrier error reports to address discrepancies between HRIS and carrier system data integration.
  • Works with consultants and Total Rewards Manager on annual pricing review for Canada and US.
  • Lead the annual benefits enrollment for US Employees.
  • Support with the communication and education of new and existing programs in partnership with the Total Rewards Manager, including delivering onboarding sessions.
  • Manage Director+ RRSP Limits on an annual basis.
  • 401K program oversight and administration.
  • Update changes in deductions made by employees on the Fidelity site.
  • Ensures completion of NDT and 5500.
  • Manage annual catch-up contribution.
  • Investigates funding and investment discrepancies in partnership with payroll.
  • Supports the Total Rewards team with benefits reporting, monthly Mondelez requests, audits, and other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years administering compensation and benefits programs (Extended Health and Retirement).
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Must have sound knowledge of both Canadian and USA benefits and retirement legislation and organizational practices to review and recommend benefit programs.
  • Experience with 401K administration, audit and reporting requirements.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong multitasking skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
