About the Role

Responsible for leading the materials planning team to ensure operational and production continuity by overseeing all materials planning activities, inventory management, purchase requisitions & purchase orders, inbound materials shipments, and vendor performance management, to optimize materials costs in alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Use the Master Schedule to generate Materials Requirement Plan (MRP) for all components, packaging, and ingredients needed for production in the next 12 months.
  • Share materials forecast with the Procurement team and key suppliers.
  • Manage suppliers, including reviewing shorts, delays, and quality problems, and communicating challenges.
  • Assess key suppliers' capacity and capabilities.
  • Manage inventory for all materials.
  • Work with logistics partners to optimize the utilization of available space.
  • Ensure best use of available materials to avoid spoilage and expiry.
  • Create and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders in COUPA.
  • Demonstrate leadership competencies by creating a positive work environment and culture.
  • Ensure proper onboarding and development of staff through induction, feedback, coaching, PDP dialogues, and corrective action.
  • Ensure job vacancies are filled by completing required processes and representing the company with integrity during recruitment.
  • Ensure completion of function compliance training and/or SOP training.
  • Develop trusting cross-functional relationships and execute Employee Survey action plans.
  • Lead by example upholding company values (RDQAS) and holding others accountable.
  • Track vendor performance to ensure they meet Give and Go’s needs and highlight any instances where vendors are not performing as required to the procurement team for corrective action.

Requirements

  • Completion of a college diploma in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in Supply Chain management, Materials Planning, Scheduling, S&OP, or Operations, preferably within the Food Manufacturing industry.
  • Strong computer systems knowledge (MS Office, Excel, Access, ERP systems).
  • Working knowledge of Lean/Continuous Improvement is an asset.

  • Ability to prioritize demands and shift between conflicting priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and equipment for food processing and high-speed packaging, as well as Bakery Manufacturing including ingredients
