About the Role
Jericho Road Community Health Center is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join their Patient Access Department. This role involves greeting and assisting patients, managing registrations, scheduling, and ensuring accurate patient information is maintained within the EMR system.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors professionally and courteously.
- Complete patient registration, demographic updates, insurance verification, and payment collection.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments.
- Assign patients to provider panels.
- Support provider panel management through patient outreach and recall initiatives.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and return voicemail messages.
- Check patients in and out to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Coordinate interpreter services as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient information within the electronic medical record.
- Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
- Process, scan, index, code, and route patient documentation.
- Operate standard office equipment.
- Respond to patient questions and concerns, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Follow standardized workflows, participate in training and meetings, and support quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- High School graduate or GED equivalent.
- At least one year of experience working in an office setting.
- Direct experience in a primary care setting.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 suite.
- Experience or working knowledge of EMR systems (such as Medent a plus).
