About the Role

Jericho Road Community Health Center is seeking a Patient Access Representative fluent in either Arabic or Rohingya to join the Patient Access Department. This role is crucial for ensuring effective communication and access to care for diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors professionally and courteously.
• Complete patient registration, demographic updates, insurance verification, and payment collection.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments.
• Assign patients to provider panels according to established guidelines.
• Support provider panel management through patient outreach and recall initiatives.
• Answer incoming telephone calls, return voicemail messages, and route calls appropriately.
• Check patients in and out, supporting efficient patient flow.
• Coordinate interpreter services as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient information within the electronic medical record.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
• Process, scan, index, code, and route patient documentation.
• Operate standard office equipment.
• Respond to patient questions and concerns, escalating issues when appropriate.
• Follow standardized workflows, participate in training and meetings, and support quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of experience working in an office setting.
• Direct experience in a primary care setting.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 suite.
• Demonstrated fluency in English and designated language(s); successful language proficiency assessment required.
• Experience or working knowledge of EMR systems (such as Medent a plus).
