About the Role

The New York County District Attorney’s Office seeks an intern for its Press Office to provide communications support.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage a daily compilation of news clips relevant to the office's work.
  • Monitor the Office’s presence in the media.
  • Observe court proceedings including noteworthy arraignments, hearings, trials, and sentencings, and report back to the Press Office.
  • Monitor social media platforms, including Twitter and Facebook.

Requirements

  • Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school.
  • Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required.

Skills

  • Political Science, English, Journalism, or Communications Major, or a student with a Pre-Law concentration is preferred.
  • Extremely interested in criminal justice and current events.
  • Excellent writing, computer, internet research and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to multi-task.
