About the Role
Bread Alone Maintenance Specialists are responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of our facilities and equipment through diverse skills in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, welding, HVAC, and PLCs. They operate in an internal customer service environment, acting as independent and collaborative solution providers while upholding Bread Alone's safety, culture, and conduct standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure daily preventative maintenance is performed on equipment as designated by the Director or VP of Facilities.
- Ensure proper sign-off of work orders has been completed by submitting manager.
- Provide updates regarding ongoing projects during the weekly maintenance meeting.
- Conduct inventory of assigned equipment spare parts, compiling parts orders to be reviewed by the Director or VP of Facilities when necessary.
- Identify best practices for maintaining equipment in and around the facility.
- Continually learn from colleagues, outside service technicians, and by enrolling in classes.
- Utilize the work order system to respond to unscheduled maintenance and to follow up with other stakeholders.
- Read and understand blueprints, schematics, manuals, and part diagrams to effectively repair equipment.
Requirements
- Adept with a multitude of specialized tools and equipment.
- Computer literate.
- Must specialize in at least one industry trade.
- Responsible for the safe, efficient, high-quality operation of the facilities and equipment.
- Able to stand for long periods of time while executing tasks quickly and accurately.
- Able to work in a physically demanding fast-paced environment.
- Able to tolerate exposure to high levels of heat and cold.
- Able to twist and bend repeatedly for long periods of time.
- Able to pull, push, move and lift to waist level.
- Able to carry awkward and shifting weights up to 50 pounds in a safe and controlled manner.
- Able to work with, handle, operate, and control hot equipment and products in a safe manner according to Bread Alone guidelines.
- Willing to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices which includes but are not limited to: Removing any visible or exposed piercings and body jewelry, personal accessories, false nails & refraining from makeup at work (ie. mascara or heavy foundation, lipstick).
- Night, weekend and holiday availability based on the needs of the business.
- Respect for and comfort with a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Able and willing to use personal protective equipment (PPE) and assigned uniform as required per company policy.
- Able to gain proficiency in operating and instructing on the proper use of all systems (physical and technological) in use in your department.
- Willing to follow all safety guidelines set out by Bread Alone.
- Willing to take responsibility for your own and others safety by strictly enforcing all safety rules and regulations and taking steps to mitigate any unsafe conditions or practices enlisting the help of others as needed.
- The Bakery is open 365 days a year and team members must be willing to work consistently throughout the year which includes holidays and weekends work consistently throughout the year which includes holidays and weekends.
