About the Role
The Senior Manager, Strategic Planning supports the development and implementation of fan growth strategies through strategic analysis, business planning, performance measurement, and cross-functional program management. This role is a key contributor to the Global Fan Marketing strategy function, transforming consumer insights, business performance, and market intelligence into actionable recommendations for marketing priorities and enterprise decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of fan growth strategies through research, analysis, and business planning.
- Coordinate annual planning cycles, strategic reviews, and priority-setting initiatives.
- Develop executive presentations, business cases, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
- Maintain planning frameworks, strategic roadmaps, and organizational priorities.
- Analyze fan behavior, consumer insights, business performance, and industry trends to identify opportunities for growth.
- Partner with Consumer Insights and Data Strategy & Analytics to translate data into actionable business recommendations.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking and marketplace assessments to inform strategic decision making.
- Support audience prioritization and opportunity sizing exercises.
- Develop dashboards, scorecards, and reporting that evaluate fan growth initiatives.
- Track performance against strategic objectives and identify optimization opportunities.
- Support measurement frameworks that enable consistent evaluation across Global Fan Marketing.
- Synthesize complex data into clear insights for leadership.
- Coordinate and support strategic initiatives across cross-functional groups league-wide.
- Manage project timelines, stakeholder communications, and strategic deliverables.
- Capture organizational learnings and develop repeatable planning processes.
- Support executive meetings, strategic workshops, and business reviews.
- Foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration.
- Promote best practices in strategic thinking, planning, and business analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 5+ years of experience in strategy, marketing, consulting, analytics, or related disciplines.
- Experience managing complex cross-functional projects.
- Experience developing executive presentations and strategic recommendations.
- Strong analytical background with experience leveraging consumer insights and performance data.
- Sports, entertainment, media, or consumer brand experience preferred.
- Passion for basketball and understanding of the NBA fan ecosystem preferred.
