About the Role

This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for over 200 employees, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, reconcile, and process weekly and bi-weekly payroll using ADP Workforce Now for over 200 non-exempt employees.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of Union payroll.
  • Calculate and process wage adjustments as required.
  • Process employee changes, including new hires, terminations, garnishments, tax levy deductions, calculations, and other deductions.
  • Ensure timely processing of all workers' compensation and unemployment wage requests.
  • Complete and submit disability coverage data for processing and payment.
  • Prepare payroll reports as needed.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements, enforcing adherence and advising management on needed actions.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to all payroll inquiries from management and employees.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Perform other tasks as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience processing payroll.
  • Experience processing Union payrolls, specifically 32bj, preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent problem-solving/judgment skills along with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while handling and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, specifically with Excel.

Experience Level

  • Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience for a multi-state employer with multiple locations.

Education Level

  • Minimum High School Diploma (College degree or equivalent experience preferred)
