About the Role
CSL Australia is seeking a casual Excavator Operator to contribute to sustainable shipping operations. This role offers guaranteed hours and involves operating heavy machinery in a marine environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate a 20-tonne excavator safely and efficiently.
- Undertake cargo handling and material movement activities as directed.
- Conduct pre-start inspections and identify equipment defects.
- Work safely within confined operating areas onboard the vessel.
- Comply with all safety, environmental and operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate operational records as required.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members.
- Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience operating excavators (20-tonne or similar).
- Current excavator ticket/licence and relevant competencies.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts.
- Experience operating machinery in confined environments.
- Previous marine, port, mining or bulk cargo handling experience.
- Current driver licence.
- Additional machinery licences/tickets.
