About the Role
The Detail Technician is responsible for performing thorough interior and exterior detail work on new, used, and service vehicles, ensuring they meet dealership and Land Rover presentation standards. This role prepares vehicles for guest delivery, applies protective coatings, and inspects for cosmetic issues. The position operates on a flat-rate structure, rewarding efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough interior and exterior detail work on new, used, and service vehicles -- washing, vacuuming, polishing, and protecting to dealership and Land Rover presentation standards
- Prepare vehicles for guest delivery -- ensuring every car is immaculate and ready to make a strong first impression for a high-net-worth clientele
- Apply paint protection, fabric protection, ceramic coatings, and aftermarket appearance products as directed
- Inspect vehicles for cosmetic issues during the detail process -- scratches, stains, swirl marks, and odors -- addressing or escalating appropriately
- Operate detail equipment including pressure washers, dual-action polishers, vacuums, and steam cleaners safely and effectively
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe detail bay and work area throughout every shift
- Coordinate with service advisors, sales staff, and porters to prioritize vehicle readiness and meet delivery timelines
- Work efficiently on a flat-rate structure -- your throughput, quality, and consistency directly drive your earnings
Requirements
- Prior detailing experience required -- dealership detail experience strongly preferred; high-end auto spa or luxury vehicle detailing backgrounds also welcome
- A luxury standard of quality -- Land Rover guests in San Francisco expect a vehicle that reflects the premium nature of the brand, and you hold yourself to that standard
- Comfortable with paint correction, dual-action polishing, and paint protection application
- Self-directed and productive -- flat-rate rewards speed and consistency, and you bring both
- Comfortable operating all detail equipment safely and effectively
- Physically capable of standing, bending, and working on your feet throughout the shift
- Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in work that is genuinely exceptional
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
