About the Role

Ambience runs on data to understand clinician adoption, time savings, and documentation quality. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will build and manage pipelines for ingesting clinical and operational data, modeling it into governed metrics, and providing self-service analytics. You will collaborate cross-functionally to transform raw data into actionable insights for the company and its customers, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of critical platform metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run pipelines to ingest, validate, and transform clinical and operational data at scale.
  • Ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and defensibility of metrics powering the AI story.
  • Partner with engineering, clinical, and product teams to design dashboards and analytics.
  • Apply best practices for warehousing, orchestration, governance, and RBAC.
  • Build file-based ingestion pipelines for onboarding external data sources.
  • Develop automated validation, triggering, and error-handling mechanisms for real-time data availability.
  • Implement data validation frameworks using Python or TypeScript.
  • Design transformation layers (SQL, dbt) to standardize and cleanse raw data.
  • Build and maintain governed metrics and analytical schemas in SQL.
  • Enable tiered self-service analytics for all employees.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a production Data Engineering role.
  • Hands-on Snowflake experience (data modeling, performance tuning, warehouse administration).
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, or warehouses in modern cloud environments.
  • Solid grasp of data validation, schema design, and scalable architecture.
  • Clear communicator capable of bridging technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to gather requirements and present to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Mission-driven.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Takes ownership of deliverables.
  • Experience owning a production pipeline end-to-end.
  • Comfortable making decisions without fully specified tickets.
