About the Role
AbelCine seeks an experienced Senior Visual Designer to join their team as a full-time employed consultant supporting a key client in New York City. This role blends broadcast design, information design, branding, and visual storytelling to create a unified visual language for studio programming, transforming complex data into compelling on-screen graphics and motion elements.
Responsibilities
- Define, maintain, and evolve the visual identity of studio and broadcast programming.
- Establish consistency across work created by multiple designers.
- Learn existing programming's visual language and maintain design files.
- Develop design systems, templates, graphic packages, and motion standards.
- Translate data and information into compelling broadcast graphics and visual stories.
- Reimagine static information for broadcast, video, motion graphics, and on-screen experiences.
- Develop original visual concepts for complex information.
- Design on-screen graphics, information graphics, data visualizations, presentations, diagrams, and digital assets.
- Partner with producers, production teams, content teams, and designers.
- Create motion graphics and animated assets for various platforms.
- Provide creative direction and quality control for studio design work.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and create scalable design systems.
- Stay current on trends and tools in broadcast design, motion graphics, and AI.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Information Design, Motion Design, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7–10 years of professional design experience with a strong background in broadcast and studio design.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating broadcast graphics, visual storytelling, information design, data visualization, branding, and motion graphics.
- Demonstrated experience creating graphics and visual systems for broadcast, studio, video, or live production environments.
- Strong understanding of graphics within a broadcast environment.
- Experience developing and maintaining design systems, templates, or graphic packages.
- Strong brand sensibility and ability to ensure consistency.
- Advanced understanding of typography, layout, composition, color, visual hierarchy, and information architecture.
- Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Strong working knowledge of Figma and PowerPoint.
- Experience creating motion graphics, animated explainers, executive presentations, infographics, process diagrams, and data-driven visual content.
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear visual communications.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience supporting financial services, consulting, technology, or corporate communications industries is highly preferred.
