About the Role

Join an organization driven by HEART principles (Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork) and make a difference to the next generation. This role supports the Chef in preparing and cooking age-appropriate food, maintaining kitchen safety, and managing dietary requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chef in the preparation and cooking of age-appropriate food for all children.
  • Minimize food wastage.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Take responsibility for running the kitchen in the Chef's absence.
  • Ensure all dietary requirements are catered for and communicated to teams.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a cooking role (domestic or commercial).
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of managing different dietary requirements, especially food allergies.
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH.
  • Great communication skills with colleagues, children, and parents.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Must pass Food Safety CIEH L2 or equivalent on day 1.
  • Subject to safer recruitment practice and pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check.
