About the Role

The Senior Auditor will support the completion of process-focused, risk-based audits to improve CTC's internal control environment. This role involves assessing and reporting on internal controls, identifying weaknesses, and recommending enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Assess and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, identifying weaknesses and opportunities for enhancement.
• Provide direct assistance to the Audit Manager/APM in planning, execution, and reporting of audit engagements.
• Complete audit engagements, projects, or multiple sections of the audit program.
• Identify, document, and assess key business process related risks and controls.
• Assess key controls for both design adequacy and operational effectiveness.
• Report risk/control gaps that may impact business objectives.
• Support management by identifying cost recoveries and savings opportunities through audits.
• Assist in developing detailed audit plans/programs and manage assigned fieldwork.
• Assist in assessing risks and adequacy of internal controls for business processes, documenting in flowcharts.
• Apply data mining approach to validate control assertions.
• Complete sufficient testing of processes/key controls/assertions effectively and efficiently.
• Ensure audit documentation meets division and IIA Standards.
• Communicate non-compliance issues to senior audit team members for client discussion.
• Assist senior audit team members in obtaining agreement for corrective action plans from client management.
• Perform follow-up on corrective action plans if requested.
• Provide assistance to external auditors as required.
• Maintain and develop current and professional knowledge to enhance work skill set.
• Support the completion of draft audit reports as requested.

Requirements

• CPA Designated or has successfully passed the CPA Common Final Examination (CFE).
• 2+ years of practical auditing experience.
• Degree in finance or business.
• Experience in completing an enterprise business risk audit approach.
• Proven record of designing and conducting audit tests using data analytics, and to formulate appropriate conclusions and insights.
• Applied knowledge and experience of retail industry including merchandising, sourcing and buying, supply chain, store operations and marketing is considered an asset.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in the development and execution of data mining and analysis techniques is required.
• Well-developed verbal and writing skills sufficient to prepare and communicate audit findings.
• Proficient in process mapping of control systems and processes.
• Strong organizational skills and able to self-manage.
• Presentation skills sufficient to provide detailed explanation and interpretation of factual and conceptual information and ideas related to risk/control matters.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, Visio, SQL, Python, KNIME, Co-pilot, ChatGPT and/or other data analytics and AI tools.
• Proven skills for working with teams and building team rapport.
• Creative and courageous, with the ability to manage in an environment of change and ambiguity.
• Action oriented, and comfortable taking calculated risks.
• Outcome focused, critical thinkers with the ability to analyze and visualize.
