About the Role

The Federal Work-Study Student Assistant supports the Student Financial Services department by assisting with student outreach, document management, and administrative projects that promote student success and financial aid completion.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound calls to current students regarding FAFSA completion requirements, deadlines, and outstanding financial aid checklist items.
  • Contact students to provide account balance reminders and encourage timely resolution of financial aid and enrollment-related requirements.
  • Refer students to a Student Financial Services Representative (SFSR) when additional guidance, counseling, or problem resolution is needed.
  • Assist with document management by uploading documents within the Student Financial Planning (SFP) system.
  • Assist managers with special projects including trackers, spreadsheets, and reports to support operational efficiency and project management.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
  • Currently enrolled and maintaining satisfactory academic progress.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Comfortable conducting outbound phone calls and providing excellent customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information in accordance with university policies and federal regulations.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn new software systems.
