About the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall performance of contracts, ensuring timely delivery, budget control, and compliance with contractual requirements. They will maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, providing regular project reports, risk registers, and key performance indicators.
Responsibilities
- Develops project documentation, including master schedules and project plans.
- Develops project-specific schedules based on departmental timelines to ensure timely milestone transmission and clear communication of critical paths.
- Ensures project goals and objectives are met through effective stakeholder relationships.
- Ensures projects adhere to standard processes and are completed on time and with the expected quality.
- Manages and controls customer relationships through appropriate reporting, regular meetings, and conference calls.
- Clarifies scope of work with internal teams before customer buy-in and explains/justifies scope changes.
- Addresses customer dissatisfactions with teams and management to find solutions within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Develops communication plans for projects to share progress, issues, risks, and facilitate problem-solving.
- Identifies and quantifies potential project risks in collaboration with project teams.
- Leads project reporting meetings with management to discuss progress, problems, opportunities, risks, action plans, financial status, and objectives.
- Ensures effective management and adherence to project budget items with the project team.
- Identifies schedule variances and their causes, develops action plans to minimize impacts, and implements permanent solutions for delays.
- Performs other duties as assigned with adequate training.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project or program management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry or rail transit.
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and contract administration.
- Strong motivator and team player with the ability to rally a team and share experience.
- Exemplary leadership demonstrating respect, openness, honesty, mentoring, positive influence, and flexibility.
- Available to travel to the United States occasionally.
- Valid driver’s license.
