About the Role

Join the water resources team at GFT and contribute to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. This role involves providing technical support, enhancing team capabilities, and supporting multiple projects. Senior Managers will lead pursuits and oversee technical work and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Support condition assessment evaluations for water and stormwater assets, including pipelines and pump stations.
  • Meet established budget and delivery schedules for each task assignment.
  • Work directly with municipal clients to identify needs and provide solutions.
  • Draft task order proposals.
  • Coordinate project execution with other disciplines and the Project Manager/Contract Manager.
  • Develop small to large design projects from planning to construction.
  • Prepare complete construction packages (plans, specs, OPCC) for water systems.
  • Support growth of client relationships.
  • Create and manage cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations and perform technical analyses.
  • Participate in local office activities to encourage collaboration and client development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3-20 years of related experience.
  • EIT required.
  • Texas Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
  • Project experience including design of water treatment plant upgrades, water distribution systems, pump stations, and stormwater assets.
  • Hydraulic modeling experience is a plus.
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Experience managing preparation of and reviewing/approving engineering plans, specifications, project schedules, and construction cost estimates.
  • Experience using Bluebeam is desired.
  • Participation in VA AWWA, VWEA, or other regional or national professional associations.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
