About the Role

Hamilton College seeks two Leadership Gift Officers to coordinate events and stewardship experiences for top donors, manage a prospect portfolio, and secure leadership gifts to support the College's capital campaign.

Responsibilities

  • Advance philanthropic efforts for top donors by executing small group events and individualized stewardship strategies.
  • Execute small-group and individual cultivation experiences featuring college leadership and alumni.
  • Collaborate across Advancement and with campus partners for coordinated donor engagement.
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 200-250 alumni and parent prospects, securing, retaining, and upgrading leadership gifts ($2,500-$25,000+).
  • Conduct solicitation calls and in-person asks, identifying and qualifying new prospects.
  • Travel to engage prospects individually and in small groups, with initial travel paired with senior team members.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to assess engagement, track progress, and report on development in real time.
  • Make data-informed decisions for prospect management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2-5 years of fund-raising and events management, or comparable program management, experience required, preferably in a higher education environment.
  • Direct experience with small, liberal arts colleges similar to Hamilton preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends during on-campus alumni events.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, pay close attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google suite.
  • Ability to learn new software, especially ascend, and any other Salesforce-based Advancement databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work well within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Commitment to personal growth and development is highly desirable.
  • Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
