About the Role

As Director Finance, you will lead all finance functions end-to-end, including accounting, controlling, liquidity, taxes, and financial reporting. You will manage an experienced four-person team and elevate the finance function to the next level, reporting directly to the Managing Director responsible for Finance and holding a seat on the Leadership Team. The core of this role is steering the company using dynamic management principles, making financial processes clear for everyone, and driving the transition to an AI-native finance function.

Responsibilities

Manage month-end and year-end closing according to HGB, including year-end audit, annex, and management report.
Oversee controlling and steering, including P&L per business unit, a 12-month rolling forecast based on dynamic budgeting principles, and a rolling 12-month cash forecast.
Prepare and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with the Controller for all executives.
Automate, streamline, and scale accounts receivable management and payment processes.
Manage the architecture and development of finance systems, including Microsoft Business Central and payment infrastructure with Stripe.
Drive automation and AI adoption across all finance processes.
Provide investor and board reporting and financial foundations for expansion and M&A decisions.
Handle taxes and compliance in European markets with external advisors.
Lead and develop the four-person Finance team.

Requirements

Deep knowledge of HGB and audit experience on the company side.
Extensive hands-on experience with modern Finance ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Business Central).
Proven controlling experience with forecasts, unit P&Ls, and management reporting that has influenced decisions.
Leadership experience, including managing a team and interacting with founders, auditors, and investors.
Fluent German and English are required.
