About the Role

Provide technical and professional support for M&E Engineering, developing standards and technical requirements for the discipline. Ensure design and construction of M&E assets meet project requirements and resolve issues as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of requirements, specifications, and standards for M&E systems to meet HS2 objectives.
  • Support the development of requirements, specifications, and standards for M&E capability, mitigating environmental impacts within budget.
  • Provide technical expertise and advice on M&E systems to the organization and external stakeholders.
  • Assure M&E system design and installation align with standards and technical requirements, resolving issues per HS2 Governance Procedures.
  • Support engagement and consultation with internal teams impacted by M&E design, ensuring a holistic approach.
  • Support the definition and management of interfaces between M&E systems and other infrastructure systems.
  • Develop and implement best practices and innovative engineering techniques to drive consistency and efficiencies.
  • Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in all work.

Requirements

  • Applicable UK construction regulations including CDM requirements.
  • Application of the Common Safety Method (CSM) for risk evaluation and assessment.
  • Understanding of the Regulatory/Legislative Framework relevant to HS2.
  • Commercial awareness including understanding of cost delivery, schedule targets, and the need for an integrated solution.
  • Understanding of many other disciplines.
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary engineering and safety standards on large, complex projects.
  • Experience managing competing project and engineering demands with cost and schedule implications.
  • Must have the Right to Work in the UK; certain time-bound visas are not accepted.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks including Nationality & Immigration Status, employment references, DBS, Financial, and Education checks.
