About the Role
Seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician specialized in diagnosing and repairing complex hydraulic and electrical systems for agricultural machinery. This role ensures customers' farm equipment operates at peak efficiency in a professional and safe manner.
Responsibilities
- Use diagnostic equipment, observe, and listen to equipment to find faults and failures in hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Read job orders, schematics, flow charts, and manuals to guide repairs.
- Follow checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined.
- Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices.
- Test-drive equipment to ensure smooth operation.
- Tag all warranty parts and return them to the warranty clerk.
- Attend training classes and keep up with factory technical bulletins.
- Develop and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Complete assigned service and/or repairs according to safety requirements and procedures.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
- Adhere to manufacturer policies for warranty repairs, labor operations, time, and documentation.
- Perform other duties as outlined by management.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
- Proven experience working on large agricultural machinery or heavy equipment.
- Familiarity with farm operations, GPS/precision farming technology, and implement connectivity is a major plus.
- Strong independent work ethic and ability to work collaboratively.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
- A strong sense of urgency and focus on time.
- Computer skills.
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
- Ability to independently lift between 50-75 pounds.
