About the Role

CDM Smith is seeking a Geologist/Hydrogeologist to perform geologic and seismic evaluations, fault rupture hazard and slope stability investigations, and hydrogeologic analysis. This role involves analyzing subsurface conditions for water supply, contaminant, and geotechnical assessments, preparing technical reports, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic to moderate complexity geologic/ seismic evaluations/fault rupture hazard and slope stability investigations/hydrogeologic analysis.
  • Conducts aquifer test analysis, geochemical analysis, geotechnical analysis, and contaminant transport analysis.
  • Performs subsurface geological formation logging, water sampling, surface geological mapping, aquifer testing, and/or soils characterization.
  • Compiles and evaluates data.
  • Prepares cross sections, Isoconcentration maps, technical reports, and/or QA/QC analysis.
  • Develops draft evaluations and calculations for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Ensures firm policies and practices are followed on all assessments.
  • Schedules and reviews the work of subcontractors during field work.
  • Contributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation.
  • Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
  • Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
  • Reviews the work of more junior staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline.
  • 3 years of related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
  • An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills

  • Expert Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
  • Solid knowledge of scientific methods and processes.
  • Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Salary/Compensations

  • USD $72,966.00
  • USD $120,349.00
