About the Role
The Financial Risk Analytics (FRA) team at S&P Global provides advanced products and solutions for financial institutions to manage counterparty credit risk, market risk, regulatory risk capital, and derivative valuation adjustments. This role is based in London and involves client implementation, project coordination, product support, data analysis, and operational delivery across FRA solutions, supporting the full client lifecycle from onboarding to ongoing support.
Responsibilities
- Support and manage FRA client implementation and onboarding activities for new and existing clients.
- Coordinate project and workflow activities across financial engineering, product, design, development, QA, and support teams.
- Prepare and communicate project status, delivery updates, risks, and dependencies to internal and external stakeholders.
- Prioritise tasks and manage day-to-day issues across implementation, support, and operational activities.
- Provide day-to-day support for Risk as a Service (RaaS) and deployed solutions to ensure stable and effective client operations.
- Investigate and troubleshoot system, data, and process issues, working with internal teams to provide timely resolution.
- Respond to client requests with detailed analysis, clear feedback, and strong follow-through on actions required to deliver daily results.
- Perform data validation and quality checks on inputs and outputs to support a reliable end-to-end workflow.
- Conduct data analysis across the S&P Global data estate and FRA Risk Factor Utility, supporting operational processes and data quality improvements.
- Assist with implementation, testing, validation, and documentation of new features and enhancements.
- Ensure UAT and pre-production environments appropriately reflect intended production design and setup.
- Coordinate release window activity across impacted groups and stakeholders where required.
- Support ongoing planning and continuous improvement through capture of project metrics, lessons learned, and process best practices.
- Support sales and other internal stakeholders with project and delivery expertise where required.
- Provide support and cover for colleagues across the wider team as needed.
Requirements
- Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or another relevant technical discipline preferred.
- Experience in cloud technology, ideally AWS, but GCP/Azure also valued.
- Experience with REST APIs/JSON/XML.
- Kubernetes experience valued.
- Project management qualification such as Prince 2 or equivalent experience is an advantage.
- Experience with data analysis and operational problem solving.
- Experience with Python or other programming/scripting languages.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and XML.
- Exposure to modern technology platforms and workflows is preferred.
- Experience of technology projects related to financial risk is preferred.
- Understanding of financial markets, financial instruments and risk practices within banks is preferred.
- Exposure to risk domains such as counterparty credit risk, market risk, regulatory capital, or XVA is beneficial.
- Experience contributing to or managing successful and complex technology implementation or delivery projects.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and geographies.
- Capable of working effectively in a fast-paced business environment managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Adept at building and maintaining trusted and respected relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Self-starter with strong ownership and attention to detail.
- Highly proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Personally engaging and able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Able to positively engage with, and contribute to, the wider global team.
- Willing to work occasional evenings and/or weekends to accommodate client deadlines and time-zone differences.
