About the Role

Clinical Techs provide essential clinical and administrative support for patient care under the direct supervision of a Provider, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant. They ensure outstanding patient service, maintain a welcoming atmosphere, and respond effectively to changes in patient condition. This role involves excellent customer service and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill all responsibilities of the Patient Care Specialist position.
  • Maintain friendly and cordial relations with all employees and clients.
  • Build and maintain confidence and credibility with all employees.
  • Deliver clinical and administrative support and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure activities are consistent with department expectations and comply with Federal and State regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
  • Triage patients by checking vitals, performing blood draws, and giving injections.
  • Observe patients, chart, and report changes in condition or adverse reactions.
  • Assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
  • Assist providers in preparing for minor procedures and physicals.
  • Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatment.
  • Assist patients utilizing a Virtual Medicine Provider.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of patient charts and forward them as appropriate.
  • Arrange referrals to specialists and obtain pre-authorizations as directed by the Provider.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and professional relationships.
  • Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and Drug Screen exams.
  • Perform the physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions of the position.
  • Comply with Company standards of operations.
  • Promote and maintain a respectful culture of employee, employer, and business confidentiality.
  • Complete all mandatory compliance training.
  • Maintain overall office cleanliness, including taking out garbage, organizing workspaces, and assisting team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist with clerical work, including checking in patients, obtaining demographic, insurance, and financial information.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and communicate payment policies and billing/collection processes.
  • Answer telephones, take messages, and return voicemails in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Prepare patient charts by virtual patient communication.
  • Assist with patient follow-ups, including pharmacy requests, paperwork, scheduling, and clinical calls.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Current CPR license.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic.
  • Experience in a clinic setting, preferably urgent care.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant school strongly preferred.
  • License must be active, in good standing, and verifiable.
  • TB and IV Certification required to be obtained within 60 days of employment and maintained.
  • Must be from a state excluding California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, and the District of Columbia.

Experience Level

  • Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of experience as a certified MA, EMT Paramedic preferred in clinic setting, preferably urgent care.
  • Level 2: Certified MA, EMT or Paramedic with either (1) 4 years’ experience in relevant role and 2 year of Fast Pace experience in Clinical Tech role or (2) 6 years’ experience in relevant role.
  • Level 3: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with either (1) 6 years’ experience in relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience in Clinical Tech role or (2) 8 years’ experience in relevant role.
  • Level 4: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with either (1) 6 years’ experience in relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience in Clinical Tech role or (2) 8 years’ experience in relevant role.
