About the Role
This role involves developing software solutions for the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system, focusing on security enhancements, containers, and cloud technologies. You will participate in an Agile Scrum team, analyze data specifications, and integrate third-party applications.
Responsibilities
- Conducts research in design, development, testing, and utilization of electronic data processing software.
- Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs applications software and systems.
- Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and hardware engineers.
- Determines computer user needs and analyzes system capabilities.
- Prepares operating instructions and designs/develops compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
- Ensures software standards are met.
- Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine design feasibility within time and cost constraints.
- Confers with systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and obtain project information.
- Designs, develops, and modifies software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models.
- Coordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning.
- Participate daily in an Agile Scrum development team environment and all Agile Scrum ceremonies.
- Develop for the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system using technologies, frameworks, and approaches such as security enhancements, containers, and cloud technologies.
- Analyze commercial and government data specifications.
- Develop complex software primarily in Java and C++.
- Develop software that integrates third party applications and capabilities.
- Use Gitlab and other Agile development tools.
- Interface with testers, fielding engineers, and customers.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
- Function well in a team environment.
- Familiar with the full software engineering lifecycle.
- Understand and have executed good coding principles and practices.
