About the Role

As a design professional, you will be responsible for producing innovative, appropriate, and cost-effective designs, drawings, and specifications for assigned projects. You will develop into an independent resource, coordinate with other disciplines, and work towards fulfilling experience requirements for professional licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Establish Discipline basis of design for Design Manager to review.
  • Perform dimensional, interference, and basic design checks on layouts and sketches.
  • Perform analysis or calculations as assigned.
  • Incorporate designing for safety into drawings.
  • Ensure design compliance with Owner criteria.
  • Apply discipline design and detailing fundamentals under supervision.
  • Assist with plotting/production/assembly of drawing packages and writing specifications.
  • Perform code compliance review.
  • Maintain AE checklists for Design Manager to review.
  • Participate in coordination review sessions.
  • Maintain orderly work files and prepare clear correspondence.
  • Prepare presentation materials when assigned.
  • Coordinate and check work to minimize deficiencies, errors, and omissions.
  • Use Haskell standards and procedures.
  • Produce well-organized, finished design documents.
  • Check shop drawings and submittal data for conformance with contract documents.
  • Assist in field inspections, development of solutions to field problems, preparation of field orders, addenda, and record drawings.
  • Ensure shop drawings are returned on schedule.
  • Respond to field/construction questions as directed.
  • Create inspection reports and punch lists.
  • Create work plans for assigned tasks.
  • Monitor and project personal workload status, advising supervisor of difficulties.
  • Meet scheduled key dates.
  • Discuss progress regularly with Licensed Professional of Record.
  • Advise Design Manager of changes.
  • Design to budget man-hours.
  • Adhere to project strategy.
  • Document meetings and telephone conversations.
  • Travel as required.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience required.
  • Eager to get licensed.
  • Requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.
  • Visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information.
  • Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.

Skills

  • Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in Revit.
  • Experience putting together Construction document sets.
