About the Role

Excellent opportunity for an experienced criminal defence/professional disciplinary solicitor in a busy litigation boutique ranked by both the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake criminal defence and professional regulatory/disciplinary work.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the team.
  • Report to Nick Brett.
  • Give specific examples of cases that they have worked on from investigation to trial.
  • Talk about their commercial understanding of private criminal practice, their financial performance and ability to meet targets.
  • Engage in marketing and business development opportunities.
  • Develop their own profile both during and outside of working hours.

Requirements

  • Experience of police investigations and defending criminal prosecutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Criminal Procedure Rules.
  • Adept at running their own caseload and progressing matters with supervision.
  • Experience with private instructions.
  • Natural communicators and comfortable advising people from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate achievement at a leading firm or specialist boutique firm.
  • Excellent IT skills, including the advanced features of Microsoft Office.
  • Prior use of case management systems.
  • Share the firm's ethos of offering the highest level of service to clients.
  • Adhere to the highest professional standards.
