About the Role

KPMG in Canada is seeking undergraduate students for a Co-op position in Winter 2027 within the Risk Services, Cyber Security practice in Toronto. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex client issues, develop cybersecurity programs, and gain valuable consulting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the project manager with day-to-day activities, ensuring smooth project execution and coordination.
  • Oversee and maintain the project planning tool (an Excel-based tool), ensuring that all project timelines and deliverables are accurately tracked.
  • Send out daily status reports to stakeholders, summarizing project progress, and any issues that may arise.
  • Assist with and execute technical cyber-related tasks with our operational teams.
  • Assist in developing executive-level weekly reports and metrics, providing insights into project performance and status.
  • Engage in various ad-hoc project management-related tasks, such as managing the RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions) log and tracking team vacations.
  • Establish effective working relationships directly with clients.
  • Understand and help solve our clients’ cybersecurity problems.
  • Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen.
  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your KPMG brand.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in using Excel for data analysis, reporting, and project tracking. Experience with advanced Excel functions is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage project documentation and reporting.
  • Understanding and knowledge of managing aspects of cyber risk, including assessment, analysis and reporting of cyber risk in a business context.
  • Understanding and applying risk management principles to effectively manage cyber risk.
  • Implementing business resilience strategies to minimize the impact of a cyber incident.
  • Familiarity with AI‑enabled tools or analytics platforms is considered an asset.
  • Comfort in leveraging AI to enhance efficiency, generate insights, or support problem‑solving.
  • Demonstrated interest in how AI technologies can be applied in professional settings.
  • All considered applicants must have or will obtain legal authorization to work in Canada by the start date of employment.
  • Some practices within Cyber Security require candidates to be eligible for Secret-level security clearance, which mandates Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status.
