About the Role
Join our team to build upon our success in the South Eastern & London regions by developing our in-house labour desk for our construction business. You will be responsible for day-to-day recruitment, payroll administration, and providing a proactive, solution-focused service.
Responsibilities
- Resourcing new candidates to meet project requirements
- Screening candidates
- Conducting face-to-face and telephone interviews
- Performing reference checks and database management
- Conducting right to work checks
- Issuing contracts as required
- Ensuring compliance with IR35 regulations
- Understanding and applying knowledge of the rail environment and sentinel scheme
- Posting jobs to websites, social media, and job boards in line with KPIs
- Maintaining a constant flow of new candidates for the operations team
- Sourcing new candidates in advance of orders received
- Taking accurate orders from the operations team
- Liaising with project managers at project start-up and during conflict resolution
- Coordinating timesheet collection and clarification with operations
- Escalating issues to management as needed
- Operating the company's CRM system for all recruitment and client activity
- Uploading live orders to the CRM system promptly
- Ensuring accurate timesheet collation and authorization
- Collaborating with the accounts team for timely workforce payment
- Meeting all administration requirements on time and within commercial restraints
- Liaising with the Compliance Manager to understand and adhere to compliance requirements
- Ensuring all candidates are fully compliant before starting work
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar recruitment role
- Experience recruiting a site-based labour force within the construction sector
- Knowledge of sentinel scheme rules and the rail industry
- Experience recruiting for infrastructure construction sectors is a distinct advantage
- Experience using a CRM system, such as Signal
- Knowledge of contractual requirements for agency/temp workers
- Experience hiring blue-collar workers in relation to IR35
- Experience managing external agencies as and when required
- Knowledge of alternative resourcing solutions (e.g., ex-military, ex-offenders)
