About the Role
This role supports the Apple Pay and Wallet team across Europe and Emerging Markets, with a primary focus on regulatory, product counseling, and commercial and transactional law, alongside broader consumer and legal matters impacting Wallet, Payments, and Commerce.
Responsibilities
- Serve as product counsel.
- Shape responses to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Structure and negotiate complex commercial agreements with third parties in the payments industry.
- Advise on contract structures and commercial terms for Apple’s partners and customers.
- Translate applicable laws.
- Support service expansion.
Requirements
- Significant experience providing product advice for mobile wallets and various payment services.
- Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Deep understanding of European directives, laws, and regulations impacting payments, financial services, open banking, e-commerce, and consumer finance (including data privacy).
- Knowledge of laws applicable to personal financial information.
- Strong work ethic.
- Collaboration skills.
- Experience in an international team.
- Excellent client development skills.
- Significant experience providing product advice for mobile wallets, payment cards, payments systems, alternative payments, and other related services.
- Significant experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, with strong intellectual property law and technology transactions background preferred.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with European directives, laws, and regulations impacting payments and financial services.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to open banking, mobile wallets, electronic payments, e-commerce and consumer financial services.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to collecting, storing, and using personal financial information preferred.
- Strong work ethic and collaboration skills essential.
- Experience working in an international team a plus.
