About the Role
As a Finance Clerk II at High Point Federal Credit Union, you will be a key player in the daily operations of the Finance Department, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Process and post daily ACH and check activity, including share draft and exception items.
- Process member ACH payment requests received via phone and email, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with regulations.
- Monitor dormant accounts, contact members, and assist with follow-up tasks related to New York State unclaimed property requirements.
- Support the Accounts Payable process, fixed assets, and abandoned property reporting.
- Perform detailed research and decision-making related to ACH disputes, returns, and check adjustments.
- Assist members and teammates with questions and act as a resource in assigned areas.
- Serve as a backup to other Finance functions, including wires, remote deposit, and returned checks.
- Stay current with regulatory updates (BSA, ACH, NYS Abandoned Property laws).
Requirements
- Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or equivalent education.
- Bachelors’ Degree preferred.
- 2+ years combination of education and experience.
- Credit union or financial institution experience strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
