About the Role

As a working student in Data Science & AI, you will join FLEX Capital's Data & AI team, contributing to the development and implementation of data-driven solutions for portfolio companies and internal projects. You will provide operational support and, depending on your experience, manage your own projects from conception through to deployment, gaining practical responsibility and shaping real AI applications in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

Support AI projects by contributing to the development of Machine Learning and LLM-based solutions (e.g., RAG systems, chatbots, automations).
Take ownership of clearly defined sub-projects or independent use cases, from ideation through prototyping to productive implementation.
Contribute to the conception and implementation of AI agents and intelligent automations (e.g., in customer support).
Assist with classic ML tasks, model training, evaluation, exploratory analyses, and KPI deep dives.
Collaborate closely with experienced Data Scientists and AI Engineers, working together rather than in isolation.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
Initial practical experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, or LLMs, gained through projects, internships, university work, or personal experiments.
Good programming skills in Python; experience with frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, LangChain, or Hugging Face is a plus.
Basic understanding of databases, data processing, and ideally some exposure to cloud environments.
Analytical mindset, structured work approach, and a passion for solving problems pragmatically.
Eagerness to take responsibility, learn new things, and implement solutions rather than just creating presentations.
Very good command of German and English.
