About the Role
Orbital Copilot is an AI assistant for commercial real estate law, designed to accelerate due diligence by up to 70% with legal-grade precision. We are seeking a leader to shape our design function and product strategy as we expand into the UK and US markets.
Responsibilities
- Lead from the product, participating in product, commercial, and strategic conversations.
- Bring a strategic design perspective to business challenges.
- Identify areas where the product experience constrains growth or creates user friction.
- Help pressure-test product decisions against user reality.
- Ensure design is aligned with business objectives.
- Set the design agenda based on product context, user feedback, and business needs.
- Prioritize areas such as information architecture, interaction design, design systems, user research, and AI interface patterns.
- Translate product realities into a sharper design mandate and challenge assumptions.
- Define AI-native design standards, focusing on explainability, trust, agentic UX, and confidence signals.
- Shape interaction patterns that differentiate the product.
- Hold the team accountable for the quality of the user experience.
- Build and grow the design function, investing in team development and establishing clear ownership.
- Develop a high-leverage design function combining craft, user understanding, and AI expertise.
Requirements
- Significant experience leading product design at a senior level in a scaling B2B tech company.
- Depth across the design discipline.
- Ability to operate beyond traditional design roles.
- Track record of influencing business decisions at the product leadership level.
- Experience scaling a design function through a high-growth phase.
- Experience designing AI-native products, addressing explainability, trust, agentic UX, and confidence signals.
- Experience designing for expert professional users.
- Strong commercial instincts, understanding the link between design and business outcomes (adoption, retention, revenue).
- Ability to translate product context into design strategy and challenge priorities.
- Experience leading a design team, setting direction and standards without owning every deliverable.
