About the Role
ConnectSydney, a joint venture of ServiceStream, Boral, and Johnson Controls, in partnership with Transport for NSW, is entrusted with the management of the Harbour Zone. This role involves planned maintenance, upgrades, fault finding, incident response, and repairs on assets such as traffic control signals, variable message signs, traffic monitoring units, variable speed limit signs, school signs, and street lighting. On-site training and paired work are provided, with occasional solo work. The role requires shift work (day, afternoon, night) and weekend callouts with additional allowances.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections and repairs for TfNSW roadside devices and equipment.
- Ensure accurate record updates and scheduled maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with safety policy and environmental standards.
- Manage timekeeping for individual and work teams.
- Effectively manage own and small works team’s daily tasks.
- Lead daily tasks for individual and partner.
- Address asset faults, incidents, and customer complaints.
- Investigate and repair electronic devices.
- Report on and liaise with other stakeholders when required.
- Work collaboratively with all internal and external staff members of Connect Sydney.
Requirements
- NSW valid supervisors or contractors electrical licence
- Current valid driver’s licence
- General Construction Induction Card
Skills
- Authorised traffic controller
- Communications cabling and fibre accreditations
- High Risk Work licence (WP)
- Safe Working at Heights
- First Aid, CPR and LVR
- PLC and/or communications networking certificate
- EWP license
- MR truck licence
