About the Role

Agora Think Tanks, comprising Agora Energiewende and Agora Industrie, aims to support Germany's climate neutrality by 2045 through ideas, solutions, and analyses. We operate independently, free from economic or political interests. Our approach involves creating studies, developing practical policy solutions through dialogue with stakeholders, and disseminating our findings to a broad audience. We cover all relevant sectors for climate neutrality in collaboration with Agora Agrar and Agora Verkehrswende, and maintain international network connections.

Responsibilities

Manage communication and public relations for Agora Energiewende and Agora Industrie's Germany operations, collaborating with project teams and communications leadership.
Coordinate public relations from project initiation to publication, handle media inquiries, and advise project leadership.
Support publications by developing key messages and preparing/distributing press materials.
Assist staff with guest contributions and social media posts.
Build and maintain press contacts, and respond to media inquiries in coordination with relevant staff.
Monitor media coverage and produce a media digest.
Further develop and expand communication formats.
Collaborate with internal and external service providers for graphic design.
Support the project team with stakeholder engagement, including targeted mailings and preparation for stakeholder meetings.
Continuously observe energy and climate policy developments, particularly in the German and European media landscape, and identify communication opportunities.

Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in public relations or journalism with strong knowledge of the German media landscape.
Understanding of the role of a science-based think tank.
Demonstrated ability to translate technically complex topics into clear and impactful messages.
Preferably, a solid understanding of national and European energy, climate, and/or industrial policy, along with relevant media contacts.
Political awareness with a strong interest in advancing climate neutrality.
Confident demeanor with a proactive and independent approach to parallel tasks and topics.
Excellent organizational skills with an understanding of project coordination.
Experience with various social media platforms and CMS (e.g., Typo 3).
Excellent written communication skills.
Native-level German language proficiency (written and spoken).
Very good command of English (written and spoken).
