About the Role

This position focuses on compiling, verifying, and supporting the creation of comprehensive AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) reports for detail parts, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. You will work directly with Quality Engineers to map engineering drawing characteristics, perform physical inspections, and ensure alignment with regulatory and aerospace flow-down requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect sub-assemblies, final assemblies, and complex components to verify compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Measure and record dimensional data for AS9102 Form 3 ballooning and reporting.
  • Audit assembly layouts and mechanical fits using precision tools.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers to accelerate the completion, review, and sign-off of First Article packages.
  • Ensure all customer flow-downs, process specifications, and assembly criteria are met.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of quality inspection experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Proven expertise working directly with AS9102 FAI standards and documentation protocols.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting complex assembly drawings and bill of materials (BOM).
  • Experience using precision mechanical inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, functional gages).
  • Ability to pass a technical interview and client evaluation if requested.
  • Must be a US citizen.
