About the Role

As a Product Owner, you will own the product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle, ensuring your product delivers meaningful outcomes for customers and the business. You will operate across Zurich’s broker platforms and connectivity ecosystem, simplifying partner integrations and enabling seamless digital experiences. This role involves balancing technology modernization with the support and optimization of existing platforms, aiming to reduce complexity and deliver scalable, future-ready solutions. You will collaborate closely with underwriting, technology, and delivery teams to shape outcomes that drive both customer and commercial value, with a strong emphasis on understanding the underwriting domain and delivering practical, high-impact improvements. You will also work as part of a product trio with design and engineering to test assumptions, solve complex problems, and deliver meaningful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver a clear, data-informed product strategy and roadmap that supports both platform modernization and ongoing optimization of existing capabilities.
  • Prioritize opportunities that balance customer value, business outcomes, technical dependencies, and the reduction of legacy complexity and tech debt.
  • Drive improvements to underwriting processes, including referral optimization, rating enhancements, and data integration.
  • Partner closely with underwriting, technology, and delivery teams to translate business needs into clear product direction.
  • Manage and prioritize the backlog, ensuring the squad is focused on high-value initiatives.
  • Lead delivery across complex initiatives with dependencies across multiple squads and systems.
  • Engage stakeholders to shape solutions and ensure alignment across business and technical teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner within general insurance, ideally with exposure to underwriting environments or SME portfolios.
  • An understanding of underwriting processes, including referral rules, risk assessment, and rating logic is highly regarded.
  • Experience working with underwriting or broker platforms, or equivalent competitor systems, with an ability to quickly transfer that knowledge.
  • Ability to operate across both product and analysis, including shaping requirements and stepping into BA level responsibilities where needed.
  • Comfort working in multi-squad environments, managing dependencies, and driving outcomes across interconnected teams.
  • Balanced commercial and technical mindset, with a focus on delivering business outcomes rather than purely technical solutions.
